Optimistic Voices

"You're out of the woods You're out of the dark You're out of the night"
"OPTIMISTIC VOICES" FROM THE WIZARD OF OZ

Can't help it, people.  I'm dancing all over the house singing that song.  I don't care what the calendar says - my Peppermint Camelias are in full bloom, the Daphne Odora is sending a sweet fragrance all over the garden, and WINTER is in my rear view mirror.
I don't know the correct botanical name for these beauties, I just know they are lighting up my garden with a visual version of the Hallelujah Chorus and a little bit of The Isley Brothers "Shout" thrown in for good measure.
As for the Daphne Odora - OMG.  She is a magical little shrub who displays shiny green leaves year round and in FEBRUARY (go figure) she puts on a show with little pink flowers that smell like I think Heaven is going to look.  This blog does not feature smell-o-vision.  Such a pity.  Just take my word for it.
Her scent catches me in the face from twenty feet away.
Yes - we are prone to rogue snow storms in March.  We have also been known to warm up in mid-February and never look back.  I'm going with the latter.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Today is Countdown Friday
