There are few things any sweeter than the breath of a newborn baby.
Meet my first grandson, Miller James.
The "Miller" is for Ernest Hemingway, whose middle name was Miller, and whose life was the subject of my daughter's dissertation. She is a Hemingway Scholar. On the other end of the spectrum, the "James" is for two of her favorite entertainers - Jimmy Buffet and James Taylor. Poor kid won't know whether to bury his nose in a book or break out the guitar and start singing.
In any event, he arrived in fine fashion yesterday, weighing in at a solid 8 pounds and 4 ounces. His mom came through like a champ and his dad can't stop smiling.
As for his grandparents - well - do you even have to ask?
