Remember the big tomato? One of you (Valerie Greely?) suggested at the time that it was more the size of a pumpkin. So check this out. Our little crop of sugar pumpkins yielded this cutie, and I decided to try a side-by-side comparison. Can't decide which pic I like the best. Nothing says summer like a tomato, nothing says autumn like a pumpkin - so take your pick.
And speaking of pumpkins, a couple of my little bear buddies wanted in on the act. Sending smiles your way. Happy Fall, y'all.
You DO grow some giant 'maters down there in the south! We have a bounty of about 63 to cook down into sauce tomorrow but none as large as yours! I haven't bought any pumpkins yet and didn't grow any but the prospect of homemade pies is tempting!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're so right...what is summer without some fresh, sliced tomatoes on a plate!
Hugs, Diane
That tomato is making my mouth water....so sad when those babies are gone for the year! Those napkins are just precious, Beth!!! Are those new this year? just toooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThey were new last year! Thanks for the kind words:) That WAS one big tomato - even by our standards down here. Diane - do you ship UPS or FedEx on those pies?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the tomato was as good as it looks! I planted tomatoes last summer but I forgot to tell my husband and he mowed over them. Ha! Ha!
